Summer is technically over but, I live in Puerto Rico where the average temperature is 80°F year-round. Meaning it is Frosé season the entire year! That might be my excuse to have this tasty cocktail any time of the year, but you don’t really need one. No matter the climate you live in, a refreshing drink is always a good idea!
Prep time: 10min - Freeze time: 6-8hours - Total time: 7-8hours
Yields: 12 glasses
Ingredients:
2–750mL bottle rosé wine (your preferred one, I like it dry)
12 oz frozen strawberries
8 oz fresh strawberries, plus more for garnish
4 tablespoon honey or granulated sugar
6-8 mint leaves, for garnish (optional)
Directions:
Remove the tops of the strawberries and cut them in half.
In a blender, blend one bottle of rosé, the fresh and frozen strawberries, and the honey or sugar until smooth and fully combined. Then pour the mixture into a covered baking dish or a plastic container with a lid.
Transfer to the freezer and freeze at least 6 hours, or overnight. (The alcohol in the mixture will keep it a slushy texture instead of freezing solid.)
To serve, scoop mixture into a glass. Then pour a splash of rosé into each glass (this step gives the final texture and brings in the character of the rosé.)
Garnish with strawberries and mint leaves, serve immediately.
